    I have a SONY DVD RW DW-U18A
    Board: P4VT8+ 1.0
    Bus Clock: 200 megahertz
BIOS: American Megatrends Inc. P1.40 04/08/2004

When I burn a DVD it stops at 4mg. What do I need to do to get the full 4.7gb

Taking a wild guess that you really mean 4 GB, then that is the limit of a single file size on a DVD.

If burning a movie you have to use a program like dvd shrink to get entire movie on a blank dvd.

Wow. 4 Megabits??? That's like, .5MB? haha. You mean megabytes, or megabits? either way, that's weird.
