Basically, I'm a compete tard, but I lusted for power and put a 512MB RAM module in my Dell Dimension XPS T450 in which each slot can only handle up to 256MB. Upon starting the computer I got an error message that only happened once so I can't tell you what it was. I continued on and I got as far as the Windows XP loading logo. As soon as it disappeared I got a flash of a blue screen, no more than half a second, maybe the BSOD, then my harddrive stopped spinning and the computer restarted. I've since tried cutting back to the original 128MB module and restarting, but with the exact same results. Safe mode and Last known good configuration do not work.

It's an off the shelf Dell Dimension XPS t450 that my Dad bought when it was new.
I haven't got the specs.

I throw myself on the mercy of the court.
