"A disk read error occurred press ctrl+alt+del to restart", I am having the same problem. The drive shows in the bios, i have changed the cable, I have taken out the battery for over 10 mins, brand new power supply, it's set as master, ran seagate tools and it passed the tests, I am stuck and need to get that comp up and running asap. Could you please help out. Thank you

Have you recently reformatted? If you did and it didn't solve the problem, that would exclude a software origin. Could be that your motherboard is faulty.

Can't reformat, need to keep the data. New motherboard and tested.
