Do not see anything obvious in that log, See if you can run the following:

Download [IMG] OTL from any of the following links and save to your Desktop:

    Link 1
    Link 2
    Link 3

    • Double click on the icon [IMG] to run it, Vista or Windows 7 users accept UAC alert..
    • When the window appears, underneath Output at the top, make sure Standard output is selected.
    • Select Scan all users
    • Under the Extra Registry section, check Use SafeList
    • In the lower right corner, checkmark "LOP Check" and checkmark "Purity Check".
    • Under the Custom Scan box paste this in:

      Code:
      netsvcs
      %systemroot%\*. /mp /s
      %systemroot%\*. /rp /s
      msconfig
      %SYSTEMDRIVE%\*.exe
      %LOCALAPPDATA%\*.exe
      %systemdrive%\$Recycle.Bin|@;true;true;true /fp
      /md5start
      consrv.dll
      explorer.exe
      winlogon.exe
      Userinit.exe
      svchost.exe
      /md5stop
      CREATERESTOREPOINT

    • Click the [IMG] button. Do not change any settings unless otherwise told to do so. The scan wont take long.
    • When the scan completes, it will open two notepad windows. OTL.Txt and Extras.Txt. These are saved in the same location as OTL.
    • Please copy (Edit->Select All, Edit->Copy) the contents of these files, one at a time, and post them in your reply

Hello! Thanks for all your help, but it was pretty much a doomed effort!
I just reinstalled Windows 7 since I had my valid key.
I'd still like to know what was wrong.
Do you think I could PM you with the info you requested?
It's okay if you don't want to but I thought it'd be interesting to know what type of virus this was!
I'm going to mark this solved !

    Hiya Andy,

You can PM if you want, I never actually found anything wrong with the first scan using FRST, had just asked you to run OTL for another diagnostic scan and you`ve done a wipe and reload.... Not much I tell you really.....

    Kevin....:)
