    Hey guys,

I am planning to buy a good 5.1" amplifier and i plan to attach it to my computer. What i was looking for is a good sound card which must support my 5.1" amplifier speakers that means it must have the ability of surround sound. Any suggestions ?

Man, just try to buy a sound card that doesn't support 5.1! I'd look for one that has a s/pdif in/out or optical i/o. I run the X-Fi Platinum. It kills.

Thanks for the reply. Yea i read a lot 'bout the X Fi Platinum card, but i guess will have to wait until it hits the market in my country. By the way how much did u get in your country ?

And also is not the Sound Blaster series 5.1" surround not a good option. ?:)

Perhaps you should tell us what country you are in so we can find cards that are actually available to you.

I'm in canada, and I got my platinum for just under two hundred. The basic model Extreme Music is retail for about $80 and is frequently found on discount shelves, but lacks s/pidif connections.

This looks pretty cool. http://www.djdeals.com/maudioAUDIOPHILE2496.htm Not your standard sound card.

I am at India right now. I will have to check with the local market if these kinds of high end cards are actually available here.
