a little help with a new computer

I have a new computer for about six months.
amd athlon 64 3200 939 sp1
It worked fine until last week.It happened twice when i start the computer the yellow lite is on and the green lite flikers also i can here the fan.
The screen is black and i can not power off,i must pull the plug wait a few minutes and it wiill start.I had this computer built for me so i called the shop
and he told me to bring it in when it happens but what is he going to see,it will start.
What do you thing may be the problem? Tks

WHat version of Windows?

DO you have a boor disk?

Maybe the video card just needs to be reseated. Or maybe the power supply is failing. If the place that built it for you has a warranty and is offering to fix ith then let them. You don't want to void your warranty or make the problem worse by letting it go one for too long.

I was thinking it may be the power supply, anyway i will bring it in . Tks
