I posted this yesterday and it was sent to the 4th page extremely fast due to the posts after mine. I never received a reply and did not think I would, so I will post it again. My appologies if this is inappropiate. The original is now on page 5.

My IE6 browser has been getting slower by the minute and a lot of pages are giving me Page Not Found errors and occasional IE shutdown. I have run AVG w/ latest updates, Spybot w/ latest updates, Ad-Aware 6 with latest updates, deleted all cookies, deleted temp files.Cleaned a couple viruses yesterday (ADW Ruledor.c and the other I do not remember). Have shut down restore, restarted computer, and started it again.

This has improved after I decided not to accept all cookies and control which ones I do.

I am running XP pro
IE6 Sp1
512 memory
1.2 G amd Processor

I just downloaded Hijack This and will display my log. If someone can help me out I would most certainly be very grateful.

Thank you very much.

404's and ie shut down. i'd say its your connection. broadband or 56k?

i think you maybe fixed the ie problems. if not, try updating it if you have an old version and get all the windows updates if you haven't. if you still get the 404's i'd say its yoru connection.

if ie crashes and closes and stuff..then..i have no idea. your system seems really clean and you know what your doing. perhaps a reinstall of either ie, or windows (without formatting) could fix it. perhaps you have missing or corrupt files.

I think this is the problem:
O2 - BHO: (no name) - {30A56549-9D5B-4D34-AFA7-440A7F0538A9} - C:\Program Files\Open Site\opnste.dll

and this needs to be removed:
O3 - Toolbar: (no name) - {D7F30B62-8269-41AF-9539-B2697FA7D77E} - (no file)

Try running CWShredder too to see if there is anything else lurking.

Other than that, it could be the connection.

FYI With regards to the other post, if you are not getting response and it's on the 5th page, just post a reply of '*BUMP*' so it will go back to the first page. I will get that post removed.

BTW, the appropriate way to get your thread back to the top is to post back to it again, not to repost. Some days are slower than others and it takes folks awhile to get to everyone ;)
