i know that windows stores the names and login codes for all of the wireless connections that i use. i would like to look at these so that i can see the security code (WEP?) for my wifi system at home (i'm not there and my partner can't find the key to hook up a new laptop.) can you guide me through windows to see this list and the details? thanks.

    Hi and welcome.

Should be accessible via the router setup page.

Who ever is in Seattle should be able to access the router setup page. Just the same as when you set up the WEP key. More than likely you set a password for it, so you'll have to share that info with the person on the other end as well.

I think they will have to hardwire to the router instead of attempting wireless though ;)

To access the web based utility of the router, launch IE & enter the routers default ip address 192.168.1.1 in the address bar. A password request page will appear. Enter Admin & the password you assigned.

Since you are out of range...... (you in the caribbean and the router is in seattle) give instructions to your partner.

Or the USER NAME instead of ADMIN. Most people who bother to set a password, and WEP key, usually don't opt for the default ADMIN ;)
