Hello, I am having problems with my network connection on my computer. I am the host of the network (I am directly connected to the router via Ethernet cable), and on occasions my internet would fail. The other computers on the network would be able to use the internet as mine would not work. Also, the odd thing is that if I was previously connected to an application which requires the use of the internet (i.e. AIM, WoW, etc.) I can still continue to use it. If I try opening these after my connection fails, it will simply not connect to the internet, thus not allowing me to use it. The only way I can get back onto the internet is by restarting my computer, however this has become a large annoyance and hassle to do every time I need to use the internet.

Please help me with this problem! :(

Well, once the computer has become "disconnected", please do this:

Try these simple tests.

Start, Run, CMD to open a command prompt:

PING 216.109.112.135

PING yahoo.com

Right click in the command window and choose Select All, then hit Enter.
Paste the results in a message here.

If you are on a machine with no network connection, use a floppy, USB disk, or a CD-RW disk to transfer a text file with the information to allow pasting it here.

Well, the computer is not "disconnected", it has what appears to be full connectivity to the Internet. This would appear to be a browser issue.

At this point, I'd have to suspect malware.

Please post a HijackThis 2.00.2 Log here.

I see you don't have an AV application, that's one issue you should fix.

I'd try booting in safe mode with networking and see if the issue still occurs. We need to narrow down the environment where it occurs.
