When you say all your hardware was recognized --- the hard drive? cdrom? It appears that the boot disk is throwing the RAM drive onto C: which would mean that the boot didn't find the hard drive.....at least that what I'm thinking.....

At the a: prompt, what happens if you type:

    c:
    and press enter?
if that goes ok, then type
    dir
and press enter....what are some of the files that appear?

    then try
    d:
    and press enter, anything?

If anyone else has any ideas, don't be shy :)

Your doing great AcaCandy, I'm leaning as I always
    do when you post.
In the previous post, using a win98 startup Cndy was
able to reformat. Would that have hurt since you said
it was needed to use the special pb startup disk? She
also started to install the win 98, would it have worked
if she had used the win 95 first?

Well, I'm not sure.....if PBs have that secret place on the hard drive like Compaqs do, she may have to jump through a lot of hoops to get the operating system installed.

On the other hand, I'm not sure why the windows 98 installation hung.

I'm also wondering out loud if the hard drive was reformatted correctly.......

Actually, I just had another thought, when you formatted, did you do format /s with a windows 98 boot disk? I'm not sure if that would make a difference, trying to install windows 95, but I'm thinking more and more that there can be no more harm done to reformat once again.
