Out of the box problem and Question

I purchased a Corsair CMX512-3500C2 for this board! it is supposed to support it.

    See Sight:

Using that ram with that board all i got was an error code of E5?
    And a long constant beep?

I was under the impression that Higher ram would only revert to a lower speed. At least until you get in the bios to tweak it.

I bouht a cheap piece of 128mb pc2100, Just to see if it would boot. And it does, No fancy settings needed other than teling it i was using a 2.4 133.

My big Question is did I buy a piece of bad ram?
And does anyone know what the error code E5 means?
It does,nt say in the manual!

    Anyone please respond.

Sounds like your bus speed does not match your processor speed.I believe with that memory your FSB needs to be at 266 and your multiplier needs to be adjusted accordingly.
