I was searching for something, and went to the wrong place, please help.
I ran a virus scan, adaware, spybot, cwshreder and microsoft anitspyware. My start page keeps going to about:blank. I have tried to change it many times, but keep getting the same thing, and tons of popups.

It looks like your computer has a major problem with "nasties" and is going to take someone better than me to help you. :(

Concerning the ABOUT:BLANK problem, read here.

Concerning the RES:HTML#28129 problem, read here.

Concerning the NEWDOTNET problem, read here.

I strongly suggest that you save this site in your Favorites list and make good use of it.

    Reformat?
The add/remove is not showing either of the shop programs, or new.net one. The ad aware or spybot removes them, but when I boot up they run again.

    Thank you again

As bad as this one is, I'd back up data and do a clean reinstall of XP . . will take less time and effort in the long run.

I'd have a Moderator check that before you decide to do anything.

I've seen them fix much messier logs than that.

I will PM one for you (y)

I was hoping you wouldn't have to reinstall :(

But if you're happy then it's all good :D

Can I suggest a good program for protection?
Along with the ones you previously had "adaware, spybot, cwshreder and microsoft anitspyware"

    Get Spyware Blaster: http://www.javacoolsoftware.com/spywareblaster.html

Will give you a procedure to fix it yourself to keep it from being re-infected.
[1] Download, install and run Webroots, Spysweeper
[2] Download. install and run Firefox 1.0 Browser.
[3] Get yourself a good virus program like Avast Anti-Virus which automatically updates its program and definitions.
[2 and 3] are free programs, Spysweeper, which has won numberous
awards is well worth the money. http://www.webroot.com/

Since you decided to and have already reformated and reinstalled Windows XP, don't ignore making the SP2 upgrade. ;)
