Niklaus Wirth. Algorithms + Datastructures = Programs. Prentice-Hall, 1976.

Richard Sincovic. Data structures using Modula-2. John Wiley & Sons, 1986

These 2 classics explain the theory behind stacks, queues, lists, (binary) trees, recursion, etc. They gave me a very good basic knowledge of datastructures which helped me for years in my programming. The samples are in Pascal/Modula-2, but the principals apply to any other programming language as well.
