    A tough one --

Computer tries to access internet: locks up DVD player, or software accessing sound card.

    Background:

Norton Firewall switched to "block traffic". (No internet connection).
After an hour or so (watching movie), computer tries to access computer on "protected connection making new connection to internet." (It can't access the internet of course, because it is disabled.) (Ordinarily, Norton permits programs to access the internet based on user pre-assigned preferences. A virus will usually try to start a "new" connection, and the firewall shows it has such when it asks permission. There is no reason [in my mind] that the computer would try to establish a new connection, when the only connections it permits are ones I have already designated. This case is an "uninitiated" attempt to access the internet.)

Predictably, after a couple of minutes, the DVD control panel comes on the screen (on top of the movie playing the background), and the mouse cursor disappears. Can't close the DVD control panel. Must power down and reboot.

2nd symptom: It also occurs when I am running Sibelius, a music writing program. After the unknown program tries to access the internet, the MIDI capability messes up in a number of ways, depending on how I am using the program at that time. If I am using external Creative Extigy Soundblaster soundcard, the sounds stop. If I am using external MIDI keyboards, then program no longer triggers them. Program freezes sometimes too.

Assumption: Unknown program is trying to access the internet. Program has time delay?

    DSL connection
    IE 6.1 SP1
    Virus scan: No viruses detected
    SkyBlaster: Done
    SkyBot: Done
    Adaware: Done

I installed Skyblaster tonight, so that may fix the problem. We'll see.

'Hijack This' file: One file is bolded as questionable. The rest look okay to me. What do you see?
