access to shared printer and nas with laptop

    I cant get access with my office laptop to my network printer and NAS at home (both linked to my central router) any views on how to overcome this?

    I would suggest to post the problem in the Networking forum since the problem is with a network and you would get more specialized help there.

    Perhaps if you'd give more details on exactly the configuration of the two sites, and how they're linked, that would give us something to go on. Make/model of any network equipment like modems, routers, etc. Version and patch level of Windows in use. And the make/model of the NAS.

    the details as follows:

    NAS is a WD netcenter 500 GB, windows on my desktop is XP SP2, the printerserver is a HP jetdirect x300, the router a Vigor 2800VG, laptop a IBM T41 running on windows professional

    What are the EXACT symptoms? Can you see the printer when you attempt to install? When you run the WD install, does it see the NAS?
