Hello, I am not sure if this is the right forum to post my issue, so please forgive me if I am in the wrong forum but I am so desperate to fix this issue. I have t computers with very good size harrdrives. What I want to do is to save my work my daily work on a external drive that I bought, I bought the Maxtor® Backup and OneTouch™ 1TB capacity. Since it is a usb port I can place it in any pc, but the purpose of this was to set it on one which I did and be able to copy my work from both pcs. I can see it on the pc that is installed, but when I go to other pc. I can not. What can I do? or how can I be able to set it the drive to be abel to save from both pcs? please help me.

thank you.

There is network on both pcs too.

Hi,

I will do some assumption, and assume you are using Windows XP or Vista. Simply go in Windows Explorer (<Windows Key>-E) and select the external drive, then right click and select Sharing, from there enable sharing for that drive and enable permission to write from other computers. That should do the trick.

Have an ice day ;)
