    Hello,

I have an acer aspire 5100 that does not even boot. It crashes early and tries to reboot without success. None of the other booting modes work either, all crash early. I can go to the bios with f2 and something seems strange. In the boot priority order, I have:
    1: IDE 0: TSHIBA MK6034GAX-(PM)
    2: IDE 1: HL-DT-ST DVDRAM GSA-T10N-(P
    3: SATA:
4: PCI BEV: Realtek Boot Agent
    5: USB HDD:
    etc. usb all empty.

Shouldn't the hard drive be in SATA?
I don't know how to solve the problem. A boot disk maybe?
    Thanks,
    Serge.

    Hi etaf,
Yes it is the HD. I was thinking it was supposed to show in SATA in the boot sequence.
And yes, no other booting mode works.
    I'll check for the CD.
No one has a more precise idea of the problem so far?
    thanks,
    Serge.
