I am new so i apologize if this is in the wrong section.

I have an Acer Aspire 5516-5474
    "Desktop Replacement Notebook"

    Originally it had;

    Windows Vista Home Basic OEMAct
    Acer Incorporated

It has a Western Digital Scorpio Blue 250GB Sata HDD
i put in it. It originally had same kind of HDD just a 160

You peoples are extremely intellegent. At least I think so
    from what i read.

So here is my issue, the laptop came at a very nice price.
no real software issues except for my own personal
software I added to it ( or tried to ). Vista just does not
like alot of my games, and software similar.

So I went to the Acer site and saw "Windows XP Pro 32"
drivers. Since I have an original disc from the same place
i bought the 5516 I swiped the drive clean, and started
the attempt to install my XP.

I got to the part where i would press F6 to add any other
drivers, but my iastor.sys file ( or whatever it is called )
keeps telling me that it is corrupted. Now I have no clue
where to get a copy that is not corrupted. Since I cannot
seem to locate where I got the first set of drivers on the
acer website. Yes I went to the process i did when i first
got the drivers. (Those click menus that have the beyonce
thing that goes "to the left to the left" as you make your
    choices)

if you send me an instant message, i am online most of the
time i just may be invisible. Just let me know you are contacting
me about this thread when you send an instant message.

Thank you all very much for your assistance & time.

    Have a very blessed 2011
