    Hi guys,

I am facing a problem with my less-than-a-year-old Acer Aspire 5943g laptop. Certain keys on the keyboard wont work for some time when I switch on the laptop or when I get it off the sleep mode. These keys are Caps Lock, d, s, h, m, and some more. After 5-10 minutes of frustrating around, pressing random keys, these keys activate and start functioning. However, the cycle repeats itself the next time I switch on my computer.

I googled and found that there are many users out there with similar issues but none have managed to get their issues resolved or at least no one has provided a satisfactory answer so far. In this forum there is a exact same topic but that thread is closed. I would be grateful if those users can suggest me what they ended up doing to cope with this issue.

I checked with the Acer people in Indonesia and they say that I will have to give my laptop and it can take up to 14 working days. I might do that but looking for the last ray of hope through this forum.

Many Thanks for your help in advance.

    Try a different keyboard.

Thanks but do you mean an external keyboard? Is that a permanent solution or just meant to diagnose where the problem lies?

    Diagnosis. Try a USB keyboard.
