I have had this laptop for a little over 2 years and the sound system is great. However, recently, I noticed that the sounds have become more quiet from when I am watching videos and listening to music. I realised that out of the 4 speakers under my laptop, only 2 (a right and left speaker) are working. The other 2 are not producing any sounds. I have run troubleshooting on the speakers and they seemed to be fine, except that surround sound is no longer available in the options (it is an un-clickable faded font).

I am not a tech person, so I am not sure what I should do from here. I am hoping for some advice here before I seek help from the laptop repair stores. Thank you!

Try manually updating or reinstalling the audio drivers. The drivers should be available from the Acer website.
