acer problem

    i have a acer laptop, itwas working fine yesterday, by evening itwould not turn on windows or the home page ithas messagethe file is missing or corrupted please re-install a copy of the above file?

    windows xp it will not open anything just come on, show acer logo, then black screen and up pops the message

    - try safemode
    as the PC starts keep tapping F8 - a menu appears - choose
    safemode - see if that works
