What folders are trying to transfer to?

And are you also trying to transfer some folders to the new machine?

    Yes, I understand that.
BUT, are you trying to transfer any of the "MY Documents", My Pictures" folders themselves?

Vista does NOT use these "MY" folders any longer and it appears that you are trying to copy some of the folder over.
Try selecting the sub folders and files on the external drive, but NOT the major folder, and then try copying them to your "User" folder on the Vista machine.
