9.0 is available..........has anybody used it? Has anybody upgraded their 8.0 to 9.0? Any results? Favorable? Unfavorable? It would be interesting to hear your comments.

I downloaded it yesterday and installed it. It appears to have overwritten my Version 8.

It ran OK and I like being able to select files and folders to include in the image.

Will be trying it more this weekend but first want to make sure that any image created can be read by Version 8 in case I don't buy it.

Now that you've pointed it out, I guess I'll upgrade later today. It will be interesting to see what could possibly be different or "better".

I strongly suggest you check the Acronis forums first. Lots of problems and lots of people pissed off. Plus, most of the new features don't add a lot of functionality, only bloat. I'm sticking with TI8.

I went and looked at the feature list, and I didn't see anything that sent me scrambling for my credit card. :)

    Hi there!
I've just upgrade my True Image. So my first impre impression is very good.
    New build has modified wizard (even more convenient);
I was surprised of new features too:
now it could backup not the whole drive or partition, just individual files and folders. Also now it has differential backup option-decrease the number of backups you manage. Differential backups capture the changes made since your last full backup.
To my mind Acronis is rock as usual.

The auto verify in TI 9 is good, and the restore of individual files, if you are entitled to the free upgrade it's ok, but I would not put my hand in my pocket to upgrade, I did a clean install to 9 and have no problems in any way. but I will keep a few TI 8 backups around for some time.

Has anyone tried restoring an image from Version 9 using Version 8.

If it will not do that, I am going to remove the trial version because during that period, backups would only be useful if you buy the product.

    Thanks

As I remember....I made an emergency boot disk on a floppy A with Version 8. However, I could not verify if the boot disk was valid or not. Does Version 9 correct this problem?

Yes, needed to restore this morning, used ver 8 boot disk and a ver 9 image file, it would work any way round 9 to 8 or 8 to 9. only norton change image file types withing the same named software.

It most interestng that yur version 8 boot disk worked with a verson 9 image file.
Can we verify if our boot disk is valid by just running a test, without restoring?

All I have ever done to test boot disk, is to boot from it and using the restore function see if it will read and select image files and drives.

    Greetings!
Yes, v8 boot disk could work with v9, even you could in v9 restore images created by v8.
I've just tried it, and everything was clear.
