I am running Act2000 5 version and want to use an excel template. Do you know how i can get ACT to work with Microsoft Excel like it does with Microsoft Word?

Thanks

I think ACT does a mail merge with Word, right?
What do you want it to do with the Excel template?

I'm not familiar with Act (hardly at all), but am very familiar with Excel. I would not assume that just 'cause Act merges data with Word, that it'll behave as well with Excel. But it might. Have you tried doing an Export or Save as?

Thanks for your reply. I want to store an EXCEL form within ACT. When I use ACT2000 I can store files in the program put when I try and store a simple EXCEL sheet it looses it's format

I sent him to a database forum, Andy. I don't recall seeing ACT there when I saw it just the other day, but...who knows?

Sure, I know my suggestion was ACT *to* Excel, but -

(a) any Google stuff implied that importing from XL was csv only (you won't get formatting that way)

(b) it say's the add-on's compatible with ACT 5.x

(c) a bit in the blurb "open an Excel spreadsheet to be used as a template"

(d) (don't think it'll be do-able anyway but) there's a contact # ; at least if the trial doesn't make it clear, he can call & ask (& maybe get a "no, you need ..."

Anyways, have to turn in. Catch u l8r.

Rgds,
Andy
