We are using ACT 6.0 and have a couple of questions/issues.

First, is that one of our users does not see the notes/history screen. Every time he logs in, he has to go to filter notes/histories and check the histories box. Why won't it save that preference? What would be causing this problem for him and noone else?

Second, is there a way to enter note globally? Meaning, we have X amount of records that we need to enter the same note for "sent webinar invite." Is there a way to enter a "global" note and have it appear on all the contacts you've selected thru a query?

And, lastly, is there a way to run an activity report by date and by user/person? Having a report for one whole week with every user who had activity is not helpful!

    Thanks, everyone for your help!
    Susan

    1. Try this - http://tinyurl.com/5ctjnl

    2. With ACT! 6, can only do this with History, not Notes:
Do a Lookup for the Contacts. View Contact List. Select all the Contacts – click on top one and Shift-Click on bottom. Ctrl-H (record History).

    3. Report | Activity (or I think you might mean History or history Classic). Select History tab. Use data managed by. Select the user. Or try Crystal Clear Reports for more options

Thanks for the info! The link you sent for the issue of the history box not remaining checked, says it's for Win95. He has Vista. And, he has said he will not mess with his registry. Any other ideas??

Probably the same fix... but ACT! 6.0 was never tested on Vista

Still desperately need a fix, besides changing the registry, for the issue of the histories box not remaining checked!

He has Vista and is using ACT through a server, not from his desktop, so not sure how changing something on his dsktop will solve an issue on a separate server?

Anyone have any ideas?? Please help!!
    Thanks!

What do you mean "using ACT! through a server"?

To you mean terminal services, or is ACT! reunning on the Vista machine. If so, it's using the registry on the Vista machine

Not sure if I'm wording it correctly, but he signs onto a remote server from his computer (that uses Vista) and once into the remote server, open ACT from there.

Accuming you mean a Terminal Services server, then the registry fix would need to be done there... either way, it needs to be done on the system that the ACT.exe is being run from
