I have had Windows XP for about 4 years now all legal and registered. I had a hard disk problem(bad sectores) and put an new 550 gb hard disk in and cloned it with Seagate disc wizard. All great and I could boot from either drive. However, I thought I would do a fresh insatll of Win XP on my new hard drive as a couple of annoying errors had cloned across (obviously) After doing a new install it is now asking for both drives (old and new) for Windows to be activated. However even if I try to activate over the internet I can;t because I can't log on and it tells me I have no connection (catch22) There is no boot in safe mode is there? Any ideas how I can get in please?

Probably no ethernet driver. You might use another computer, go to the manufacturers website and DL the driver to a floppy/thumbdrive etc. and install it that way - should get you online.
