I was on AOL Instant Messanger and saw a friend's away message that said "PICS FROM VALENTINES http://www.jamesburg.org/photos.pif :) !!!". So I clicked on the link, since I knew who it was from. It must have been a virus though because now my computer is automatically putting that up as my away message all the time. Also, if I try to go to Norton Antivirus, it won't scan my computer. When Norton Antivirus opens though, I get an error message saying "Your current security settings prohibit running ActiveX controls on this page. As a result, the page may not display correctly." This is why I think that the virus may have to do with ActiveX. This error message sometimes appears when I open up the internet browser also. Usually not though. I am also unable to check my email on my computer with this virus. I have tried searching for the ActiveX virus on the computer and have found webpages where it is discussed, but it never says anything about how to get rid of it. Am I right that this is an ActiveX virus? And do you know how to delete it from my computer? Thank you so much for your time!

Check this Symantec page and see if that helps you get your settings corrected.
