What should I change to prevent this from popping up all the time and still remain secure? I am running W98SE-IE6SP1. Have tried both Enable and Prompt under that section of Security.

Changed to Disable under both Internet and Trusted Sites. What effect will that have on viewing certain pages?

Hi Deke, it's been awhile since I set my IE settings, but if I recall correctly the setting prohibits unsigned ActiveX controls from running on your system. If you disable that, as you did, you'll allow unsigned ActiveX on your system.

Check out your browser settings here:

    Then you are like me.

One of the best tools that IE offers is security zones. I put all of my regular trusted websites (like this one, my bank, google, etc.) into the Trusted Zone and then enable scripting and signed Active-X controls. I have not come across a site that has unsigned ones.

Then, in the Internet Security Zone you can disable all of the these potentially harmful features. Some pages may not load properly or you will get popups, but this should only be from new sites and this is when you need the most security.
