I installed Adaptec Easy Cd and direct Cd Version 4.029 and when I wanted to use the Easy CD, the following come up:

Easy CD Creator Engine initialization has failed. ( Could not create the Engine).

I have uninstalled and re-installed this program several times with the same result.

    My system:

    P3, win 98 Sony CD RW crx100E

    Can please help.

    Welcome to TSG!
Roxio has seen this problem many times before and is usually caused by incomplete installations. Here is an article from Roxio
That explains the proceedure to correct the problam and get the engine to fire.

One thing to try is to copy the Easy Cd disk to a temporary folder on the hard drive. Completely remove the previous installation(s) and reboot. This time run the Easy Cd install program from the hard drive.
