Hi all,

Has anyone had any experience with the Adaptec Serial ATA RAID 1210SA
?

I installed one into my machines with 2 x 120Gb Maxtor SATA drives.

As per the instructions on an existing Windows XP machine I setup the drives first by doing the following.

1) Install the driver for the SATA card.
2) Used Maxtor MaxBlast3 to copy the current boot drive to one of the SATA drives.
3) Rebooted setup the SATA as primary boot device
4) Tested with Windows XP. EVerythign appears fine.
5) Go to Adaptec RAID configuration (via the BIOS - Ctrl-A at Machine startup).
6) Create the RAID 1 array using the first SATA as the Source (used Build type which takes a few horus).
7) Rebooted and Windows XP started OK.
8) After an hour, rebooted again and found that windows would not startup saying that c:\windows\system32\config was missing.
9) Booted back using the original IDE hard drive and check the array and found that directories had gone missing.

It looks like file corruption is occuring when setting up the Array.

Any ideas anyone?

Thanks,

Richard.
