Hi please have a look at my scan logs.

I had a bunch a adaware that I removed with Adaware and manually digging into the registry. The problem I have is that my Norton AV keeps finding them but won't delete them. If I try to find the file using the path provided in the norton window, I can't find anything?

I have to run Norton to be more specific, but I added the previous Ad-Aware Scan log to show what I was dealing with, some of these names still appear in the AV scan, I'll post back with some specifics.

    Thanks

I attached a screen print of the Norton scan, in the "Hijack" scan log I see this program: MPREXE.EXE the norton site says it is related to a trojan named "Backdoor.Niklaus".

I navigated to the run folder in the registry

    HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Run

I'll post the contents next but just below the RUN folder is another one named RUN- It contains alot of suspicious entries and I believe I should delete the whole folder. I put ZZZ ( would that disable them?) infront of all the entries I recognized as problems.

Attached is the contens of the RUN- folder

This is the RUN folder, not sure if there is anything suspicious here?

The Run- key shows items in the Startup list or System Configuration Utility which have been disabled.

You do realize you are editing the Registry and not Windows Directories?

I hope, for your sake, you Backed Up the Registry before you made those entries.

Have you tried emptying Norton's Recycle Bin?
That is where most of the files are being found.
    c:\RECYCLED\
    c:\RECYCLED\NPROTECT\
    c:\temp\
    c:\Program Files\SearchRelevant\

    ______________________________________________________________

    In the System Configuration Utility
    Start > Run
    key in:
    msconfig
    Startup tab
and place a checkmark in every item listed.

Reboot for the settings to take effect.

Rescan with HijackThis and post a new log.

    Thanks EA

There were only 6 files in the recycle bin and i knew what they were, I unchecked all the process in the MScofig window here is the new scan, but I still have the registry entries altered with ZZZ so the programs won't run.
