Are you running windows 98 and have run into trouble because of the fact that there are only 5 entries in the scanreg /restore folder to choose from ? add as many as you want.....Search for the scanreg.ini folder in the \Windows directory. Open it and look down for the "Maxbackupcopies=5". edit the number 5 to whatever you wish and save..

Is there such a thing as setting this number too high which may cause some kind of conflict?

    :)

I would imagine that space would become an issue like a severly bloated registry but there would be no need to have more than 15-20.

No Candy I'll stick with 15 and if there is a conflict you will know about it the same time as me.

I experimented with this to satisfy my curiosity. I used X-teq tweaking utility (which I consider to be the best of any free utility I've tried) to set my stored registries to 30. This was done on W98se

I then tried restoring registries of differing dates and I recieved errors. Not very scientific analysis, as I tried this last year and didn't keep notes.
