One of my work mates has been asked to teach a class at another company. The companies clients will be invited to attend and must bring their laptop and have wireless capabilities as they will need to connect to the internet for training. My problem - this other company has no in-house IT support, does have wireless capabilities, not firewalled, but encrypted. It appears (based on what they know) that the wireless AP can handle approx. 10-13 laptops connecting before it tanks and either starts dropping connections or is so slow internet times out. Since they have no in-house IT support and neither do we, both companies have asked me to solve the problem with the twist being that we want to be able to go to several other locations and do these classes with similar limitations. The wireless AP or router (don't know which would be better) needs to be able to support 30 - 40 laptop connections and we need to be able to plug it into either the existing wireless router (depending on what the other company has) or unplug the existing AP and plug ours in without having to go into the other companies server to configure it. What AP or router would you recommend we buy that can handle 30-40 wireless connections? If the other company is using a wireless router can we plug ours into their router without having conflicts? Can we unplug their AP and plug ours in without having to reconfigure everytime? And what am I missing - I know just enough to know I don't know enough! Thanks for your help.
