I am trying to set up someone else's Outlook mailbox on a system. As I was finishing up the installation, this is the message I received about the register: 1406 Error - write value omi9 HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\Software
Can someone give me clarity as to why a second mailbox can't be added to someone's computer? I am currently running Windows Small Business 2000.
    Thanks a lot.

Is this on a box running nt, 2000 or xp?

If so, this could be a group membership thing, they might need to be in a higher group to be able to create the value. It also might be a registry permission problem. You would need to use regedt32 to be able to check the permissions on the registry keys.
