I would like to add English subtitles to an Italian video which I want to burn to dvd. I have the sub and idx files along with the video. I tried using DVD Flick to do this. But it rendered the movie from widescreen to fullscreen. (Apart from that it works fine.;))

I am using Ashampoo Burning Studio 11 and Shrink & Burn 3 to burn dvds. Neither of these programs seems able to include the subtitles.

Can you recommend a program to use? Thanks.

ConvertXtoDVD and I believe DVDSanta support that option.

Aegisub Advanced Subtitle Editor (open-source) is a cross-platform subtitle editor that’s chock-full of advanced features.

You can also create ordinary dot-srt subtitles in any text editor. It's easy to do, with timing being the hardest part, of course.

You can hard-sub using lots of freeware, including VirtualDub, VirtualDubMod, or Handbrake.
