    hi everybody,
I have a couple of problems trying to add some video files to a ppt presentation. Videos are in mp4 or MOV format.
The first prolem is that I'm able to play the video only on the PC in my office (Win7 Ultimate+Office 2003). On my own PCs (Laptop with Win 7 Home premium/Laptop with WinXP/Netbook with Win7 starter. Office 2003 installed on all of them) I get a black or grey placeholder or the playack is almost immediately interrupted without any error message. In this way I cannot continue my job at home. (this is not so bad :))
The second one is that on the only pc where it works, the video flashes one time at the beginning of each playback. It's very annoying...
Any idea/suggestion to solve these problems?

    thanks

I think it has to do with your two video formats - mp4 & mov

Powerpoint 2003 doesn't natively support either of those. It needs codecs supplied & installed with Apple QuickTime.
Your Office PC I assume has QuickTime installed, whereas your home computers don't. If you install QuickTime I think that will fix the problem.

As to the video "flashing" problem on your office PC, try updating QuickTime to the latest version: http://www.apple.com/quicktime/download/

I forgot to mention that latest Quicktime player 7.7.2 is installed on all PCs.
I read that the playback within microsoft softwares is done by MCI but it doesn't return any error message.
I tryed converting the files in SWF but in this case I cannot see the animation preview but I get a fixed frame instead of the video playback.
Since I've to add some text comments during the playback, in this way I cannot check if timings are correct.
    Any other suggestion?
