I'm looking to upgrade my Packard Bell PIII 450MHz PC (W98SE) with additional RAM. It currently has 64MB RAM. I want to know how much more the system could cope with...128? 256? Also, does it matter if I get DIMM or SIMM?
Look for a 256MB double-sided PC133 or PC100 168pin DIMM. It must be double-sided, it should have 8 chips on each side. That will more than likely work fine in your machine.
Thanks guys. I couldn't find the model name anywhere on my computer! I thought it would have been listed in the Control Panel > System area but it wasn't. 256MB sounds good to me...should speed things up a bit!
Cheers mate. Couldn't see it on the case but when I was going through the list of options on that Crucial site it came back to me that it's a Pulsar 500. Found some memory for it and they've even got a UK site as well...bonus!
