am i correct in my assumtion that when people make reference to a virus that will automatically send itself to everyone in your address book that this only happens if you use outlook, OE, eudora or a similar program? i use none of those email programs, and i cannot see a virus logging onto hotmail to dig up my addresses.

yes it is possible to get an infection to spread via your web-male address book, also in your messenger buddy list.....but most web based e-mail clients have anti virus scanners to detect these nasties....you should always scan attachments with your own virus software(and you do have one?) just to be safe.
    hope this answers your question;)
