My brother has been classified with a learning disability and was given a laptop by his elementary school to help him improve his learning. After he graduated, he got to keep it and he has taken really good care of it throughout his first year of highschool.

He got a virus on it today, and I am trying to remove it for him but we can't install a virus protection program or use system restore because he doesn't have administrative access.

I went to his elementary school, but they directed us to HP who seem unable to help me.

Do you know how I can remove this virus for him without having privileges to install anything?

Does your brother have the admin account?

does he have a password for it?

No, the administration password was for the IT at his school. He just has access to the user account they set up for him. I tried getting into the BIOS to resintall XP (to set make CD/DVD the boot device) - which solves the no admin access and gets rid of virus - but the BIOS is also password protected.
