I have been trying to install a music sharing application on my friends computer but I keep getting a message that I cant do this because I am not the administrator. I asked my friend who the administrator was he did not know. I went into safe mode and saw that his family and him were classed as limited users. He could not remember who installed his os or if their was a password. so I made him an administrator and tried to change the admistrator account from his administer account. Could'ent do it nothing to click on to change it, but if I tried to change the limited accounts I could do it by clicking on change the account type. I never got this option when trying to change the account named administrator. Is it possible to change this without doing a clean install. Thanks.

If you want to install as admin you have to be in the admin account. Thiws computer has an admin account just go there and install the program.

PS we are not supposed to work on these sharing programs here . Are we?

Do you mean click on the admistrator account and then install or is there a different way?

He has limited accounts and they can not be installed into by any program. What you try is logging into the admin account and install the program thru there and it should be made available to the limited accounts thru there.

Why is he running on limited accounts?
