Hi, I'm new here. I spotted TonyKlein's name here, and since he's my hero, I thought I'd join your forum. Good-job cheers to the young man who started this site. Wish I was that bright when I was his age. (Come to think of it, I'm not nearly that bright at this age.)

I just recently tried Adobe Photoshop (tough program for me to figure out).

Would you know how to delete the recent pictures you've worked on from their entries in "File" then "Open Recent"?

I looked for a recent folder in the program files but couldn't find anything.

    Thanks. :)

I believe that info is actually stored in the registry. You can always run something like Spybot, which can erase your usage tracks. I think....
Husbands not here, or I'd asked him to be sure! He's the Photoshop guru in our family.

Thanks JustMe. I ran Spybot after I read your response. No go.

Maybe later you can ask your husband for me. :)

Well, it was worth a shot! I will ask him for you when he comes home today. I was going to look at his Photoshop on my computer, then I remembered that it wasn't here since the re-format!

If you go to Edit > Preferences > Saving Files > Near the bottom you will see a small box "Recent file list contains" and then the number of files in a small box. You can change this to whatever you want. If you change it to 0 you will erase all the recent files in the list. Good luck.

Until you change it back to a number when the old files re-appear.

And spybot unfortunately doesn't track adobe files

Here's alittle program that says with a plugin it will clean the MRU list in PhotoShop...I've never used it so I can't say for sure...

    http://www.viaclean.com/v2/help/faq.html

I just loaded Photoshop Elements that came with a camera I bought and can find no reference to the list in the registry but it must be there somewhere

I asked over here in the Photoshop forum just for the heck of it Kimmygems

Hi again. :) Thanks for all your responses.

That mru program was like a hundred bucks. Don't think I'll be using that. But thanks.

Took me a little while to find where you directed me in Photoshop to change the saved recent. I found it under Edit\Preferences\File Handling. At the bottom I changed the "10" to "0" as you advised.

    It worked.

Anyway, I wanted to see if the 2 pictures I had it there would show back up if I changed the number back to 10, because I thought you said they would. But they didn't. Then I tried it again with a new picture, and it also stayed gone.

I'm a big Pamela Anderson fan, so this helps me a lot, considering I'm married and all. :)

Oh, and thanks for the welcome. Sorry I didn't address each of you individually instead of with a "you", but it'll take time for me to catch your names. I do thank "you" though.

    Too funny.

Buck, I see you're from Massachusetts. I live in Southern California now, but I was born in Gloucester. Still have lots of family back there.
