While trying to play some multimedia cds using adobe reader I get the following error message:
Acrobat has encountered an error while playing this media clip:
Adobe’s Windows build-in player cannot play this format as the required decoder is not installed on the system.

These cds are a subscritption from a photo magazine, lenswork. They make them to be read on Adobe Reader. I had previously not had any problems but now it doesn't work. I'm certain it's not a problem with the Adobe Reader iteself. I uninstalled and reinstalled it to no avail. What I think happened is I might have accidently deleted some windwows files, and now the program won't work properly. Any suggestions? I'd hate to have to reinstall Windows again to solve this issue.

I did contact Lenswork and am waiting for a response. Does anyone know does this error message regarding the missing decoder mean I am missing a componant in Windows, example some file might have been deleted by accident, or does this mean Adobe is missing something. I did try once before downloading a more recent version of Adobe but the same error. Makes me think the error message pertains to something missing in WindowsXP.

    Hiya

Are you still having this problem? I looked in the Adobe forums, but noticed you've posted there as well :)

What is the file type of the media clip? I assume its part of the actual magazine, and you can't view it seperatly.

Looking here, as these are free to look at, which one are you having problems with?

    http://enhanced.lenswork.com/

I can have a look at any, I think.

    Regards
