Pop up ads are industry standard. You just have to live with them. Unless you are having other trouble you have not stated.

When are you getting these pop up ads?

There is an add on for browsers called ADBlock Plus which will stop most of them, but there is a school of thought that Advertising pays for the web and should be allowed.
I use ADBlock plus and tick the "allow none intrusive ads" which hopefully the marketing people will eventually cotton on to and behave sensibly.

I don't like ads interfering with what I am doing, but don't mind those that occasionally show in the corner if that is going to keep internet access free.

According to your "Computer Specifications", you have a HP computer(possibly a g4 series laptop).
What is its model name and model number?
What is the part/product number(P/N) on it?

I have Microsoft Security Essentials running full-time.
I also use AdwCleaner and Malwarebytes Anti-Malware and SUPERAntiSpyware about once a week.
I still get ads and pop-ups at some of the sites I visit.
It's part of what we have to deal with when we're on-line.

Doing a reinstall of Windows or a factory restore is a drastic and unnecessary step to take because of ads and pop-ups.

The HP Compaq dc7800 Small Form Factor is an old model that originally came with Windows XP.

Since it's now running Windows 7, that probably explains why it has no recovery partition.

How and when did Windows 7 get installed in it?

    ----------------------------------------------------------------

Go here, then click the large blue "Download Now @ Bleeping Computer" button to download and save AdwCleaner.exe to your desktop.

Close all open windows first, then double-click AdwCleaner.exe to load its main window.

Click the "Scan" button, then allow the scanning process to finish.
(Note: Several seconds may pass before the scanning process starts, so be patient.)

Click the "Cleaning" button, then click "OK".

Allow the cleaning process to finish.

When it's finished, click "OK" in each window that appears.

    The computer will restart.

When the log appears during restart, save it.

Return here to your thread, then copy-and-paste the ENTIRE log here.

    ----------------------------------------------------------------

Go here, then click the large blue "Download Now @ Author's Site" button to download and save TFC.exe (Temp File Cleaner by OldTimer) to your desktop.

After it's downloaded and saved, close all open windows.

Double-click it to load its main window.

    Click the "Start" button.

If there are a large number of temp files or if there are multiple user accounts, the temp file deletion process may appear to freeze and may take a few minutes, so don't interfere with or abort it.

After it's finished, restart the computer.

I have no idea why you submitted the above in post #8.
I need you to complete my instructions for AdwCleaner and Temp File Cleaner By OldTimer.

It's 7:00 P.M. here, so I'm shutting down for the night.
I'll check back here in the morning. (y)
