This is just an honest question - Please don't murder me if I'm wrong...(my curiosity;))

Don't you have to be malware-qualified to mention anti-spyware programs?

no, you can suggest spyware programs, you can not recommend anything to do with hijackthis. Hijackthis is a program that can damage somebody's computer and render it non bootable unless you do a fresh install of the OS. that's where the danger is. but everyday spyware removing programs there isn't an issue. unless you download a bogus program.

Not sure about that, I just don't recommend anything about hijackthis. although I pretty much know how to use the program, Never finished the class, was called up for duty at the time. Personally and this is just my opinion, nobody should offer advise dealing with Hijackthis other then the "post a new one" due to the dangers involved, Unless you have taken the class and completed it. I guess if you really need to know the rules of the forum ask a moderator. cause I really don't know that answer

The rules call for a common sense interpretation, especially in the security forum

If someone posts asking what is the best antispyware or antivirus or where do I download HJT from or similar general topics then anyone can answer BUT if someone posts & says I am infected or I have a virus or I am getting pop ups & diverts etec etc etc or any similar type similar post and need help then that post should only be answered by a qualified person
