Advice for new Bios

    hi, i received an alert a week ago telling me to update my DELL BIOS.. I am not a computer expert, so I need expert advice whether or not I should update.. here is the dell support center alert: also, i would appreciate a list of pros and cons for updating my bios.

    Well, if you are experiencing any of the problems the fixlist lists, then update. Make sure there is no chance of eletrical failure or surge while it processes the update.
    If you're not having those troubles (yet?), then you don't have to update (yet.) And propably shouldn't. Agreed, pros? :)

    well, i dont really have lockups crases or errors, but my fan kind of sounds loud but i think it is supposed to be like that.. why should i not update if i dont have these problems?

    Well. It's just not worth it, and the new version may cause trouble plus if the computer happens to freeze or lose power while updating, your motherboard will be usable. Period. And you don't want to buy a new motherboard just because you wanted to make a useless update, right?
