Hi, i got around £600 to get the mrs a new laptop, a dedicated grphics card is a must as she is into warcraft, but its a minefield out there so i am looking for any recomendations from you fine people.

one dell im looking at has the following specs...

Hard Drive 640GB (7,200rpm) Serial ATA Hard Drive
    Processor Intel® Core™ i5-460M Processor (2.53 GHz,3M)
    Memory 4096MB 1333MHz Dual Channel DDR3 SDRAM [2x2048]
    Wireless Intel® Centrino® Wireless-N 1000 (EUR)
    Video Card 1GB NVIDIA® GeForce® GT 420M Graphics Card
    CD ROM/DVD ROM 8x DVD+/-RW Optical Drive
Primary Battery 6-cell 56Whr Lithium Ion battery
    Genuine Windows® 7 Home Premium, 64bit
    LCD 15.6 HD WLED TL (1366x768) 720p

Does this sound ok for the price of £679? or should i be looking elswhere?

    Thanks in advance.

Can you post a link to that laptop or at least post a model number? the majority of laptops have integrated graphics and are not really suited to high end gaming. There are exceptions such as the Alienware MX 15 and MX17, but these although owned by Dell, are very expensive with starting prices around $1200 USD.

Hmmmm are you sure you need a laptop? A $600 computer would be a lot better suited for playing games :)
