Adware se will not run in safe or normal mode on laptop

Help please. Laptop running slow. Below is what I have done so far.

1. spywareblaster (loaded, updated and ran)
2. spybot s&d 1.3 (loaded, updated and ran)
3. Loked for instances of inetadpt.dll (none in safe or off of the www.cexx.org/lspfix.htm program good be found)

Isse: Computer freezes up trying to run AdAware Se in both modes (safe/normal)?

Here is my 1st hijackThis report.

If you go to the Microsoft Windows website, http://v4.windowsupdate.microsoft.com/en/default.asp , on the left you will see "view installation history". Left click on it. Scroll up or down, looking for Service Pack 2.

Uninstall Ad-Aware. Download a new copy. Install said new copy. Obtain the latest updates. Do the problems with Ad-aware persist?

Boot to safe mode.

I also noticed that the recent Security Updates for Windows XP (KB873333) Failed Tuesday, February 08, 2005 ?

2. I uninstalled and reinstalled and updated but the Problems with Ad-aware persist!

How long ago did you last defrag your hard drive? Answer: I do that all the time. so yesterday
