Hello there,

I am affected by a new variant of Trojan Vundo. Is this a new version of Trojan.Vundo? I guess I should have downloaded when I visited VideoDuniya.com.

Infected system: Dell Latitude D600 with Win XP with SP2

SP2 is supposed to be protection from Trojan.Vundo. It isn't against this version, anyway.

Macafee Anitivirus corporate edition detects its as Trojan Vundo in a file called <wvwxu.dll> using definitions from 26-Mar-2008.

What I have tried:

I have read previous posts and have tried the below steps. But everything failed.

1. use the VundoFix.exe tool
2. Use Virtumundibegone.exe
3. Use the Symantec Vundo Removal Tool. (FixVUndo.exe)
4. Tried what was mentioned in the MAcafee website to remove this. (i.e http://vil.nai.com/vil/Content/v_127690.htm)

However all this has failed and I still have the infection in my system. Can you please help me to remove this infection. I just cant afford to reformat the system at this point as it has too many critical data. Though I have a backup, to do a formatting and reinstall is a lengthy time consuming process.

Many thanks for your time and help in this regard.

Any help I can get on this is much appreciated. I will post the Hijack This log as a reply to this post...

I need some urgent help. I have posted it in another forum out of desparation. Please help!

Regards,
