Do you actually have a dedicated graphics card ? If so which model / type ?

If you right click on My Computer > go Properties > Hardware > Device Manager .. what is listed under Graphics Card ?

If your motherboard has Onboard Graphics and you also have a Graphics Card - check in the BIOS that Onboard VGA is set to Disabled.
