I bought a "video magic agp vga card 32 sdram" and have installed it in the agp slot in my computer. it will not work when i plug the monitor in, although i have loaded the driver. i beleive the problem is that my motherboard has an integrated video card and i cant figure out how to disable that one and make it recognize the agp slot. please help:confused:

do you know what type of motherboard you have???? Make and model

You could try going to start/settins/control panel/system/device manager/display adapter/ select the onboard, properties, check the disable in this hardware profile, shutdown, install the new card, and see if it works.

    Also check in your bios,

    enable assign irq to vga

I don't know the motherboard make and model. Is there any way to look in or on the computer to find this out. I built this computer myself and the motherboard, case, and cpu were a package.

 Go HERE and download Belarc Advisor. Install and run it to get the information you need about your system. It is freeware and to my knowledge spyware free. Good luck. KW1

I could be wrong, but I don't think that's going to be an option for the display adapter........at least I don't have it on my PC Chips onboard adapter.....

You may have a listing under Advanced Chipset Functions screen and an option such as Video Configuration. Change it from Enable to Disable, save your setting changes and exit the BIOS.
